 Coach Matt’s passion for sports has been a lifelong pursuit, evolving into a dedicated calling as he began coaching his own children and their peers. With a background as a former varsity baseball and basketball player, along with ranking in the top 10% as an amateur golfer, Coach Matt brings a wealth of experience and expertise to his coaching. His commitment to nurturing athletes and fostering a love for the game is at the core of his coaching philosophy.

Coach D is a youth trainer who played 4 years of college football at Morehouse College. His experience has taught him the values of teamwork, discipline, and perseverance, which he aims to pass on to young athletes.

For 15 years, he has coached football, basketball, and baseball, focusing on skill development, fostering a love for the game, and inspiring players to push their limits.  D's mission is to develop athletes and well-rounded individuals who value hard work, resilience, sportsmanship.

Coach DJ Neal, a multi-sport athlete at the University of SC, played collegiate baseball for two years as well as football before being drafted by the Toronto Blue Jays in 2017. With 5 years of minor league experience, he brings valuable insights to his coaching. Specializing in hitting, fielding, and plyo training, DJ works with athletes at all levels to sharpen their skills and build confidence. Passionate about the game, he is committed to helping young athletes turn their dreams into reality.

Coach David Wolensky

Coach Wolensky played high school baseball at Chamblee High. After earning scholarships to Georgia Tech and transferring to Chipola College, he was named an Academic All-American. David was drafted by the Angels in 99', reaching as high as the 13th-ranked prospect before undergoing Tommy John surgery in 2004.

Since 2007, Coach Wolensky has worked with pitchers and has served as a pitching instructor for the Canes for 16 years. His focus is on arm health and proper mechanics for young pitchers.

Steven played high school baseball at American Heritage School in South Florida, where he earned All-State honors during his final two years. He continued his baseball career at Florida A&M University in Tallahassee, FL.

Steven has coached at the high school level, working with teams at both American Heritage and Marjory Stoneman Douglas, as well as with the Florida Pokers travel program. Additionally, he has served as a hitting instructor, working with athletes at all levels, from youth players to a select group of professional athletes.

Steven is deeply passionate about both the physical and mental aspects of hitting, helping players develop a well-rounded approach to the game.

Sophie Mooney joined the Georgia State University softball staff as Pitching Coach in 2024, bringing with her an accomplished playing career and a strong foundation in player development and performance analysis.
A graduate of Collins Hill High School, Sophie earned multiple All-Region and All-State honors before beginning her collegiate career at Georgia State University (2020–2022). During her time as a Panther, she established the program’s postseason single game strikeout record (10) while pursuing a degree in Sports Administration.
She continued her academic and athletic journey at the University of North Georgia, where she became one of the program’s most decorated student-athletes. Sophie earned All-American, All-Conference, and All-Region recognition, set the single-season hits record (99), and played a pivotal role in leading UNG to the 2023 NCAA Division II National Championship. Her exceptional performance throughout the tournament earned her Most Outstanding Player (MOP) honors, highlighted by a .579 batting average, 6 RBIs, 3 runs scored, and 0 strikeouts, while also contributing in the circle as a reliever with 5 innings pitched, 1 save, no runs allowed, and one hit surrendered. She graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of North Georgia.
As a coach, Sophie combines her elite competitive background with a commitment to technical development and evidence-based training. At Georgia State, she collaborated with OGX Softball consultants to integrate biomechanical analysis into pitching instruction, enhancing athlete performance and injury prevention.
